Hi we watch you on youtube… I have 2 questions for you. Oct. 2018 we just bought our 1st Roku the box says 4661RW, the actual device bottom shows 4660X2, and then the system software on tv shows as 4660RW…. Do you know shy that is? I feel like we got jipped…..
2nd question is I thought by now we would have the OS9 update but everyday I check it and still on OS 8.1. I thought the new devices were supposed to have when shipped? Do you know anymore about dates for the ultra release?
Hi, If your Roku device is showing 4660RW on the TV, you have the 2017 Roku Ultra. The 4661RW is the 2018 Roku Ultra model. If possible, I recommend you return it from where you purchased it for a refund and get the 2018 Roku Ultra 4661 model.
Roku OS 9 is going to be a slow rollout and just started in November. The OS 9 rollout won’t be complete until March of 2019. However, you should see Roku OS 8.2 sometime in November or perhaps early December. Here is more information on Roku OS 9.
