TiVo is adding Alexa skills! Pair your TiVo with Alexa, and then use Alexa skills to control your TiVo without your remote control. Hands-free control of your TiVo!

TiVo Is Adding Alexa Skills

TiVo Alexa skills will be available on both the existing “Experience 3” software version AND the “Experience 4” software version – also called the New TiVo Experience (Hydra).

TiVo Alexa skills will be available on the following TiVo boxes:

• TiVo BOLT series
• TiVo Roamio series
• TiVo Mini series
• TiVo Premiere  series

With TiVo Alexa commands, you will be able to:

• Play, Resume, or Pause
• Fast Forward or Rewind
• Change Channels
• Launch Apps
• Skip Commercials

Check out this list of example commands:

• Alexa, change channel to FOX
• Alexa, change channel to 25.1
• Alexa, watch channel 25.1
• Alexa, launch Netflix
• Alexa, skip commercial (on skip-mode enabled shows)
• Alexa, fast forward
• Alexa, pause

Alexa Is Coming Soon

A software update to support Alexa voice commands will be released between now and June 1st, 2018. Check out the link on the TiVo Central/Apps screen of your TiVo.

Connect TiVo To Amazon Alexa

To use TiVo Alexa skills you will need either an Amazon Echo or Dot. Then connect TiVo to Amazon Alexa.

The New TiVo Experience

The TiVo rollout of the New TiVo Experience Hydra (Experience 4) software has begun. But, for those of you who like the current TiVo interface, the upgrade to the New TiVo Experience Hydra appears to still be optional. At least for now, if you want to upgrade you will have to manually start the upgrade process. “Get Ready for a New TiVo Experience.”

The TiVo Experience 3 software is the current software version.

The New TiVo Experience is the TiVo Experience 4 software, also known as Hydra.
