Roku has a planned Roku outage on August 23 2017. Some of the Roku features may not be available.
Planned Roku Outage On August 23 2017
Some of Roku’s features will not be available on August 23 2017 from 5 – 11 AM PT.
It does NOT seem that this planned outage will affect streaming from any channels that are already installed on the Roku.
The following features will not be available during this planned outage:
- Ability to activate a new Roku device
- Access to the Roku Channel Store & adding new channels
- Some channels will not be able to make purchases

Just wanted to let you know that we will perform a planned maintenance on Aug 23 from 5:00am to 11:00am PT. What this means for you: You can keep streaming on channels you’ve already installed on your Roku device. However, other services such as activating new Roku devices, accessing the Roku Channel Store to add new channels, and making purchases from within certain channels will not be available during this period.
