How Much Is 1 TB Of Internet Data Usage?

1 TB (Terabyte) of Internet data is a lot of data.

Streaming a Hi-Def TV show or movie uses about 3 GB per hour. 1 TB is about 1000 GB. So, 1 TB of data is about 333 one hour TV shows or 166 two-hour movies.

According to a Nielsen Report, the average person watches 5 hours of TV entertainment per day. At 3 GB per hour, watching 5 hours of TV per day will equal about 15 GB of Internet data usage per day. And 15 GB of Internet data usage per day is about 450 GB of Internet data usage every 30 days (per month). 450 GB is under an Internet data cap of 1 TB (1000 GB).

If a household has multiple family members who watch 5 or more hours of TV per day, it is easy to see how quickly an Internet data cap of 1 TB can be reached.
