HDHomeRun DVR Now Has Cable Channels

It was no problem for the HDHomeRun DVR to record local OTA channels with a TV antenna and watch recorded shows later. But Silicon Dust, the maker of the HDHomeRun DVR, has broken the DVR mold. How? The HDHomeRun DVR now has cable channels. Yep, that’s right. You can now get the same Live TV channels on the HDHomeRun DVR that are available on cable TV, or streaming services like Sling TV or Hulu Live TV.

The HDHomeRun DVRs are for Cord Cutters. With a TV antenna plugged into the HDHomeRun you can record local OTA channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS, and etc.

And now you can subscribe to the HDHomeRun Premium TV to watch and record channels like AMC, TBS, TNT, Hallmark Channel, Comedy Central, SYFY, ESPN, CNN, CNBC, and more. Premium TV has 45 channels that you would find on cable and satellite TV.

Also, the HDHomeRun DVR can RECORD any show available on Premium TV.

(The bitrate) quality (of Live TV channels) will improve. We are running tests with video formats, codecs, various encoders, and more to provide the best possible quality while remaining as efficient as possible. Quality improvements will be rolled out over time.
